Innovate for Tomorrow, Succeed Today
Jan 17
Wonder what I mean by that title? I want to point out to everyone that innovation is key to success. That’s how I succeed at least. I was able to start Kirbside Enterprises with zero capital and rise it to a large design firm in Denver that designs for clients I can’t even tell you about (contractually). Some of them aren’t even open yet! Why? Because I innovate for tomorrow. All of our sites use today’s modern techniques of web design, integrated with tomorrow’s methods. This includes things like HTML5, and new methods of Search Engine Optimization marketing that almost noone uses. Now that may seem like it makes me the odd one out, but that’s right where you want to be. If you are building the next great thing, it needs to be the NEXT great thing. Not today’s great thing. I have an established set of products that will continue to be considered “innovative” for years to come. And I already have new things planned to innovate on. Think about it for a second…. Now, where has innovation gotten us?
Think of these people:
- Bill Gates
- Steve Jobs
Were they what you would consider “normal?” Was an iPod “normal” when it came out? The answer is no, innovative thinkers think outside the box, and challenge the “norm.” That’s what me and my webmasters, graphic artists and marketingsperts (Marketing Experts) do every day. We have weekly brainstorming sessions of new innovative thinking.
I still remember the very first result of this – our monthly updating service. It came up when me and a former colleague of mine were out for lunch. We were charging $25 per update back then. Then, I got a call from a client who said, “Can I give you a hundred bucks and we’ll call that my updates for the month?” The light bulb kicked on, and that day, we went back to the “office” (at home) and released monthly updating for $99.95/ month. Every client we were working with was subscribed within 7 days. Why? Because we were the first firm in Colorado (and in the mid west as far as I know) to do such a radical thing. I got emails like the following:
With all the updates you guys do for us, this package saves us almost a thousand bucks a month! Thanks for coming out with such a great service. I found it weird at first but apparently weird works!
So the point here is that to be top dog, you have to think outside the box. Our innovative thinking has kept us afloat through a bad economy. And we know it’ll take us great places in the future.
If you’re coming up with a product of your own, think outside the box. If you need help with your innovative thinking, I want to offer you a free sneak peak of my new service coming out in a month or so. Innovative Brainstorming Sessions. I want to offer you a free 20 minute brainstorming session (a $99 value). This service is only available to the first 100 readers, so sign-up now. To request yours’, go the the Contact Me Page.
Regards,
PS: The client that gave me the updating idea got 6 months of it free. If you have an idea that helps us out, I’d be happy to give you a similar incentive
.

Wow! I really don’t think I could agree more. Innovation not only leads you to success for today but it helps tomorrow’s generation build outside the box.
Nice post. Innovation is certainly a very important aspect of business today.
